aku-aku: v.. To move a tall, flat bottomed object (such as a bookshelf) by swiveling it alternatively on its corners in a "walking" fashion. [After the book by Thor Heyerdahl theorising the statues of Easter Island were moved in this fashion.] source: LangMaker.com. Aku Aku also has another meaning to the islanders: a spiritual guide.

math is fun!

File under: Funny

Sometime around the time I turned 30 I started to realize mathematics is pretty damn sexy. Here's a useful implementation of that sentiment: the orgasmic calculator (requires flash plugin and audio).

Note: I originally linked to where I found this, at http://warnack.8m.com/org-calc.swf, but that site was having some problems, so I grabbed the shockwave file from my browser cache, stuck it on my server and changed the link above...

Comments:

Of all the posts of yours I have ever read that contained links, I -really- wanted to see that one. But alas, I am unable to view the orgasmic calculator. Something about access denied. Have I not had enough to qualify?? ;)

Huh. It quit working just now, maybe the site got too much traffic? I'll see if I can find it in cache and upload somewhere else....

Heh... was looking at google searches for myself (what a narcisisst :) and I came across this site... The Flash file is hosted on a free server, so it probably exceeded my transfer allowance... I'm glad someone enjoyed the image, even though the site I got it from no longer exists. Anyways... nice site you have here... This is an old thread, so I don't know if ANYONE will ever read this... ;)
Cheers!
