Last night after the modern dance performance at Art SF we joined some friends at Bottom of the Hil for an Acid Mothers Temple show. We had not heard of them before, but they were described as a psychedelic noise rock band from Japan. We were not quite prepared for the massive guitar wailing (ie, shoulda brought ear plugs) but had quite an enjoyable head banging time. Today I noticed that the SF Bay Gaurdian had a write up on them this week:
Over and over again the band illustrated their gift of being able to gently soothe and then instantly demolish, stopping and turning on a dime with equal parts compassion and malice.
Mie really enjoyed the show and bought a CD afterwards. However I think this sort of assault rock can't be captured in media, you have to cross your arms and face the wailing guitar typhoon head on.

Bonus: E v e of Sistersound was there, and he offered to put me on the guestlist for their June 24th show. w00t!
