I've been thinking a lot lately about Evil. Partly because of my growing awareness of the cause and effects of corporate globalism, partly because of my own current experiences with in a corporate start-up environment. My latest conclusion is that Evil is an emergent behavior. I'm not sure what this means if it is true, but I've become quite convinced of it. No one thinks they are evil, but Evil certainly thrives.
I tried doing a google search on Emergent Behavior and Evil but I didn't really come up with anything; however I did run across something interesting, which I might as well post here: [Link]. The hunter hunter bot reminds me of the security wall I saw at Ars Electronica back in 1998.
