My friend Mike Pollack is working on some hella cool laboratory-on-a-chip technology. The chip is basically a grid of electrodes, like a large chess board. Drops of fluid can be placed on the chip on different 'squares' and can be made to hop around the 'board' by energizing the different electrodes programmatically.
