    pakistani politics

    And you thought American politics got ugly: Yahoo! News - Pakistan Woman Councilor Beaten, Paraded Naked

    LAHORE, Pakistan (Reuters) - Pakistan's leading rights group said Sunday it was shocked at the public humiliation of a woman councilor beaten and paraded naked through a village on the orders of a powerful landlord.

    and it goes on to say:


    Earlier this year a woman was gang-raped on the orders of a traditional jury in a village in the Punjab province.

    i dunno what the hell is wrong with some of these ignorant people...some of these villagers are stuck in some strange mindset of barbaric rituals, traditions and ideals. my background is pakistani...but personally i feel no link to it since i was born and raised in canada...and they call themselves an islamic country! HA!
