Last night I went to Thee Parkside right after work. They were having a DVD release party for the new Jeff Tweedy concert movie
Sunken Treasure Live. It was more crowded than usual apparently because a lot of people thought Jeff Tweedy would actually be there (he is the frontman for Wilco and previously Uncle Tupelo). This misconception was due to some ambiguous wording in the ad run by
The Onion. The Onion folks provided free beer, but only one keg so I only got one pint for free. Still I think I drank too much, I've been dragging ass all day today.
My neighbor Jeremy is a huge Wilco fan, so he and I went in together on our own copy of the DVD. One of the nice extras on the disc is that you can download all of the songs from the movie as 256kbs mp3s, including a couple of songs that didn't make the final cut for the movie. Most excellent!
